Q-SPD Surface Drives are the latest innovation in surface drive technology, using aerospace manufacturing techniques and modern composite materials to produce ultra-lightweight, high performance propulsion solutions ideally suited to a wide range of recreational and commercial applications. Lightweight Composite Construction
Q-SPD Surface Drives are the lightest surface drive system available today, more than 50% lighter than most of its rivals. Yet it is every bit as strong as the heaviest cast or fabricated metal systems, thanks to the hi-tech materials and manufacturing processes. Aerospace technology is used to manufactured the carbon/e-glass fiber and epoxy components for maximum strength and reliability. Components are molded into one.

No Corrosion
Q-SPD Surface Drives composite construction means no corrosion. With so few metal component under water Q-SPD Surface Drives is the most corrosion resistant propulsion systems available, further ensuring ongoing structural integrity. Non- composite components are marine grade stainless steel or Bronze, and all are wired to a common point inside the vessel for easy bonding.

Lowest Maintenance
Q-SPD Surface Drives have been designed for lowest maintenance and maximum reliability. Hydraulic cylinders and hoses, thrust assemblies and all maintenance points are kept inboard away from harms way, and direct steering links ensures no unnecessary moving parts. Industry standard water lubricated shaft bearings and self-lubricating rudder bearings offer long-life maintenance free operation. A double shaft seal offers maximum longevity between seal replacements and long life, low maintenance thrust bearings are used.

High Performance
The lightweight streamlined design gives Q-SPD Surface Drives the edge when it comes to performance. A unique ventilation duct in the rudder housing ensures early propeller ventilation for fast acceleration and low planing speeds. Trimmable or adjustable drives offer ability to alter propeller immersion to maximum propeller efficiency is achieved at all speeds, and so optimum performance.

Smooth and Quiet
Thrust is absorbed at the transom through resilient urethane dampers, so any associated noise is isolated. A constant velocity intermediate shaft between the gearbox and surface drive ensures torsional stability and super quiet operation. Only the highest quality propellers are specified, further ensuring smooth and quiet operation with maximum performance and efficiency.

Easy Installation Q-SPD Surface Drives
Q-SPD Surface Drives are lightweight, modular, composite construction means installation is very easy. There is no need to disassemble the units before installing and being composite there are no bonding issues on aluminum or steel hulls. The modules are lightweight so easier to handle without heavy lifting equipment.
