Selection Guide

The  tables below give indications of typical Model rating limits along with sizes and approximate power ranges. These are intended as guidelines only. There are many factors that determine the correct Q-SPD solution, such as vessel weight and style, power speed and mission. Q-SPD will complete a full analysis for all applications to determine the correct arrangement and drive option.

(1)These specifications are a guideline only and apply to recreational ratings only. Actual application limits will depend on shaft speed, power to weight ratio and vessels speed. All specifications are subject to change.
(2)Weight excludes propeller and intermediate drive shaft
(3) Weights for MY series varies by installation.

High Speed and Military Specification

For very high speed applications and for very high stress or high usage applications such as military pursuit, Q-SPD has developed a very high strength version of key SD drive model. MIL specified drives have less moving parts. These are purely fixed drives for either direct coupling, or with integrated “watercooled” thrust bearings. The main housing structure is up to 3 times stronger than the already very strong standard SD series and mechanical parts have also been upgraded.
